7 posts · Joined 2017. #1 · Feb 9, 2017. So a friend of mine and I recently bought a 560SEL for very cheap, it has an interesting issue. It idles VERY VERY rough at around 400 RPM, kind of stumbles, and dies occasionally. It will not rev above 1500 RPM at all on gas. It will rev perfectly fine if you try while spraying gas/starter fluid into 1986 560SEL Cold Start Problem. I purchased an 86, 560SEL with approximately 89000 miles on it from a family friend who has owned the vehicle for a number of years. It appears to be well maintained as there are no oil leaks and everything works. Well almost everything as there is a cold start issue that disappears after the first start of the day. Increase and Decrease was to 1 MPH if not less. LUBE YOUR THROTTLE LINKAGES!
